MEEK MILL ANNOUNCES NEW ALBUM INTRO
On a casual Wednesday (December 6), the Philly wordsmith dropped the news that he just wrapped up a fresh intro for his upcoming album, expecting it to set the streets ablaze.
“I just laid a new intro,” he excitedly shared on X/Twitter. “I think it will top dreams and nightmares!!!! Nobody can tell me different but the streets! Ima drop it b4 my album!!!!”
Despite Meek's confidence, some fans were skeptical about surpassing the iconic “Dreams & Nightmares” anthem. One fan commented, “Oh man... I mean that’s BOLDDD bro... that ‘Dreams and Nightmares’ CAN’T be beat tbh but I’m sure it’ll smack.” Another added, “NEVER you’re too wealthy to outdo that classic. That song was made from the GRIND.”
Following his joint album with Rick Ross, "Too Good To Be True," Meek Mill is back in solo album mode. Teasing tracks on social media and with a batch of tunes set for release in January, the Dreamchasers boss is keeping the anticipation high.
The Philly anthem debate stirred up earlier this year when DJ Drama claimed Lil Uzi Vert’s “Just Wanna Rock” had taken over as the official Philly anthem, even during Philadelphia Eagles games. Meek, the creator of the timeless “Dreams & Nightmares” used during the Eagles' Super Bowl LII run in 2018, responded confidently: “Intro been lighting the world for 10 years! Like shaking rooms for years!” The battle for the Philly anthem remains lively.
